12 -24 September 2017
Anyone visiting the Wilson Studio at the Oxmarket from September 12th till the 24th will see an exhibition of work by a group of artists from Portsmouth and Chichester brought together by Portsmouth painter Martin Piercy.
Martin has been a full-time painter for the past 16 years, even owning his own gallery for seven years, and can now be found working, in semi-retirement, from his studio/shed at Draper’s Yard, Chichester.
Erin Wright is a talented Portsmouth based freelance artist and gilder, her gilding work includes working on Portsmouth’s historic HMS Warrior. She can be found producing a variety of work including paintings and working with reclaimed slate and timber to produce art, housewares, and furniture.
Chichester based artists Gerry Foronda, Henny Brown and Louise Russell are talented painters wishing to exhibit in Chichester’s highly respected Oxmarket Centre of Arts. Gerry is a talented and very enthusiastic painter that is keen to get involved in local art groups, frames his own work and can also be found selling his work at Draper’s Yard. Henrietta’s former career as a decorative artist progressed naturally towards painting the beauty of the surrounding Sussex Downs countryside and shoreline. Self-taught, she portrays her view of all natural forms in a bold, naïve, colourful style and Louise has been painting and drawing all her life and is also self-taught, though she was inspired by several artists along the way, initially, her Mother, who attended Goldsmith’s College. She works in paint and drawing and is not afraid of any subject including the abstract.
