A selection of glass pieces inspired by nature and a love of surface and texture.
Kim Tattersall comes from a textile background, specialising in print, and is very much driven by process and materials. Her fascination with surface and texture, be it shiny/matt, rough/smooth, or the play of light and shadow, is evidenced is her previous textile works.
Kim draws inspiration from nature and her work is underpinned by the Japanese aesthetic of wabi sabi – the beauty of imperfection found in nature. Being a keen photographer, she is never without a camera in her pocket.
This exhibition is the start of a collection of glass works exploring the interweaving of two disciplines – textiles and glass, where one informs the other.
